How to cook asparagus

Asparagus is a vegetable more and more sought after and used in cooking recipes. Having a special taste, aromatic and important health properties, this vegetable must be consumed as often as possible.

   On the market there are 2 types of asparagus: green asparagus and white asparagus. Green asparagus is the most common and most easily produced and found, having a taste very aromatic it is often grilled or cooked in the pan. White asparagus is more expensive because it grows much more slowly than green asparagus, it is buried  during growth in some high layers of soil which stop the light, remaining white. Both types of asparagus, the Green and white, must be bought and consumed when is still fresh. After a perioad the asparagus becomes Woody and hard to consume.

How to cook green asparagus:
-fried in the frying pan
-Grilled
-barbecue
-baked
-different combinations with other foods (asparagus baked with various kinds of meat, scrambled eggs with asparagus, ...)

How to cook white asparagus:
-only boiled (in side dishes, soups, salads)

Note: before cooking asparagus you must remove the peel.
